Summary[]

Kiyotaka asks Kushida for her cell phone to check if they received the same message. The content of the messages was almost identical, but the place where they had to go and the time were different.

The two separate and Ayanokouji goes to the second floor of the cruise ship. He stops in front of room 204 and enters after knocking on the door. Inside the room were Teruhiko Yukimura, Hideo Sotomura, and the Class A teacher, Tomonari Mashima. Mashima asks him to take a seat, and Kiyotaka notices that there was another chair left for one more person. Later, Karuizawa arrives in the room, and Mashima reprimands her for her tardiness. She wonders aloud why Yukimura and the others were there too, denoting her discomfort. The teacher asks her to sit down, and she does so after moving her chair so as not to be near the three boys. Then, Mashima begins to explain the test to them: the students of all the classes will be divided into groups with names of the zodiac and adds that they are part of the Rabbit group. The exam will take place within each group, and unlike the special exam previously, this exam focuses on their reasoning ability. As he speaks, Mashima passes them a list of the other members of their group. In total, the group would be made up of students from all the 1st year classes. He tells them that the other members of their group were receiving this same explanation, and it had also been divided into classes to make it easier to answer any questions they might have. Yukimura argues that they cannot simply form a group with the enemy classes, because so far they have done nothing but compete.

Mashima responds that for this exam they will ignore the differences between their classes and will not compete as Class D, but as the Rabbit group. After saying this, he hands them a document with the exam rules: Within the group, a student will be chosen as the VIP, and an email will be sent to the said student to inform them that they were chosen as the target. The entire group will meet twice a day in a designated room for one hour to discuss, and the topic of said discussion is left to the choice of each group. When the exam is over, the students, except the VIP, should send an email to the school stating who they think is the VIP of their respective group. But if a student submits his answer early, that student will be considered a "traitor" and the exam for their group will end regardless of whether he answered correctly or not. Depending on the answers, there were four possible outcomes:

Outcome 1: If they decide to share the identity of the VIP and there are no traitors, then everyone in the group will receive 500,000 private points and the VIP will receive 1,000,000 private points.

Outcome 2: If someone in the group, other than the VIP and their classmates, answers incorrectly, only the VIP will receive 500,000 private points.

Karuizawa had trouble understanding the exam, so Mashima made an analogy with the Jinrou game. In this game, the players are divided between "villagers" and "wolves." The wolves mingle with the villagers, and during the day, everyone must discuss who they think the wolves are. But during the night, the wolves will have a chance to eat one of the villagers. The game will continue until there is only one person left, and depending on whether it is a wolf or a villager, their corresponding side will win.

Finally, Mashima is about to tell them the third and fourth possible results.
