"Weariness of the Heart" (心の疲労, Kokoro no Hirō) is a short story from Toranoana's store privilege for volume 8 of You-Zitsu light novel series, together with other three short stories.
Summary[]
Ichinose, tired after splitting up from her friends, had leaned her body on a table in a cafe as if she was falling asleep, but soon thought that she would be inconveniencing others if she slept there and tried to get up. When she opened her eyes, she saw Ayanokouji looking at her. Greeting him, she said she was tired and if she could talk to him while resting on the table. He, with a flabbergasted look, said it was common to do something like that when tired.
When he pointed out how her group was 'difficult', she explained it was only tough until the formation of the groups, as the girls usually know whom they like and are outspoken about it, unlike the boys. She thought that she wanted to hear from Ayanokouji about his side of view and extract any information from him she could. But after talking a bit about Ryuuen, Ayanokouji, as if being considerate of her, began to take his leave.
Not being able to gain any information from him, she thought that this was an exam in which it was prerequisite to join hands together with the students of other class, and she can't do anything to change it. But if possible, she wanted to protect the things dear to her in this exam.
Looking at Ayanokouji, she thought he is someone who is always appropriately positioned and whose influence is unclear. She wondered that if he happened to be someone superior to Horkita, then he may become a threat to Class B, the ones she wanted to protect.
